Tahir FirasahA cat killing a bird signifies the destruction of high standing by a cunning companion. The name of the bird implies a rise toward distinction, yet this ascent is cut short by the presence of a false servant. This dream is read as the loss of reputation through the subtle malice of an associate, rather than a sudden or open assault.
The death of the bird marks the end of an airy hope. The cat brings a close to the potential for elevated status. A quietude follows the strike. The bird is silenced.
Eating the bird changes the nature of the loss from a mere end to an absorption of ambition. The instinctual drive of the cat turns a high goal into a base necessity.
The snake turns the act into a betrayal. The destruction of the bird is here driven by a secret spite that seeks to internalize the victim’s merit.
