Smearing a floor changes the direction of the dream toward instability. Such an action creates a surface that is no longer reliable for standing.
Mopping the floor, washing a floor, or someone mopping the floor brings the quality of renewal. The use of water allows a quietness to descend upon the home.
Sweeping the floor or brooming the floor serves to tidy the immediate surroundings. These movements clear away small obstructions so that a path remains unobstructed.
