Tahir FirasahCrossing a river marks a movement through the shifting currents of a life path. This dream marks a movement across the fluid boundaries of one’s own circumstances. It is a sign of traversing an emotional passage rather than a sign of static arrival.
The scale of the movement determines the weight of the passage. A river with murky depths suggests a period where grief or instability colors the way forward. Resistance meets the dreamer when the flow becomes difficult. A river with clear water provides ease during this transition. The movement signifies a shift in the direction of a person’s course.
A big or flooded river intensifies the scale of the emotional shift. The vastness of the water increases the significance of the passage.
Dirty water in the dream signifies that trouble accompanies the transition. The cloudiness of the stream indicates that the current course is marked by grief.
Moving across a river by foot places the focus on the physical means of progress. This detail connects the transition to the very foundation of a person’s livelihood.
The clarity of the water brings a feeling of favor to the crossing. Such transparency ensures that the transition is met with ease.
Not being able to cross a river signifies a stoppage in the movement of a life. This failure to reach the far bank indicates a stagnation in progress.
For its more general meaning: Dream about a river
I and my sister with some other people were going somewhere but we have to cross a big river before we can get to where we were going and the river is so deep that no one can actually swim, so we waited for a boat. Shortly a boat came as I was about to enter the boat one woman pushed me into the River but I quickly swim and came out at one side of the river. My sister rushed to meet me up but before we could go back to where the boat was the boat has left. Some advised us to use the bridge.
