I was in an office with some former colleagues working. I found out that they were trying to resolve an issue one of the client banks reported after the team worked with them on a migration project. So I called one of the guys over the phone and requested to join them in the discussion. Apparently, the issue was that the bank realized that some transactions were missing (i.e. hadn’t impacted the appropriate accounts) and they couldn’t ascertain the cause and consequently couldn’t resolve it. I asked my former colleagues some questions on how they went about the system migration when I saw a dry smoked fish on the desk of one of them. I took it, broke it into small pieces and ate some. I gave the remaining to others to also eat as well.
