I stepped out of the shadows and it became obvious to them that I knew what was happening and have the information on how they operate. They tried to arrest me, but I shot at their men and escaped. While fleeing I was injured in the leg and left a trail of blood. To avoid being tracked home by my blood trail, I intentionally did not go straight home, but I worried because they had a sample of my blood that they could use for DNA.

Afterward, my mother still watched silently. My younger brother lay fast asleep, drooling on my pillow. I was angry at first, but when he awoke confused, I felt compassion and helped him. Then I woke up.
