Tahir FirasahA roof collapsing signifies the failure of the highest shelter and the yielding of the authority that provides it. The root of the symbol rests in the covering that holds the structure together, and its fall marks a loss of the stability that a head of the household or a leader offers. This dream is read as a sign of structural strain rather than a sudden external blow.
The yielding occurs when the weight of accumulated pressure exceeds the strength of the support. Such a dream is not a sign of a new arrival of trouble, but of a limit reached by existing burdens. A broken protection is the result of this exhaustion. A weakened state of security is what the collapsing roof leaves behind.
The manner of the descent changes the speed of the verdict. A roof falling in or a roof caving in suggests a surrender to gravity that is abrupt. This suddenness marks an end to the period of holding on.
A house roof collapsing adds the specific dimension of the domestic sphere to the failure of protection. The grief of the home is the consequence when the shelter of the family fails.

I dreamt I was falling from a roof and my husband is watching me fall. I didn’t feel fear as I was falling though. A strong hand reached out and caught me but I don’t know who it belonged to and my husband was upset about it.
