A group of people including myself were gathered at a rodeo-type arena. We were watching as a boy attempted to ride a black bull. He was the only one riding that day, it seemed to be a ritual or coming of age ceremony. Everyone else before him had it really easy. I remember looking over at the boy during a break, he was sitting on the floor exhausted with his head resting on his knees. The boy was thinking about giving up.
